Rumor mill is churning hard and the latest to come from this is related to Apple. Apple Inc is secretly developing a search engine, cited tipsters.

As first discussed in a blog, Mac maker is shifting its focus to search engine and is planning to pitch in a new search competitor against Google. Apple has its web browser, Safari in the market that is enjoying 6.5 percent of the browser market. But Safari uses Google as its default search engine.

The blog asserted that rumors are persistent as many have overheard this rumor.

But the current scenario of market has some different story to narrate. If search market is overviewed, it seems to be saturated and no new entry can be thought of. Against Google, all the major players are struggling.

To make a lead against Google, Microsoft has tried everything like attempted giving away cash to now building a Facebook-like social base to try to lure people to its Live Search platform.

As per analyst, snatching Yahoo can be a good starter for Apple to jump in this field. Nothing for sure can be said, as rumor is rumor after all.
