HP, the leading computer manufacturer has announced its plans to merge Voodoo PC business unit with its consumer business.

As per latest reports, under merging plans the company will now sell its Voodoo's laptops and desktops alongside HP's consumer Compaq Presario and Pavilion PC lines. The merging plans are just the next step of integration.

In 2006, HP has acquired Voodoo for an undisclosed amount. Until now Voodoo has continued selling its products independently and has remained a stand-alone unit in HP. But finally the plans to integrate this unit with HP are shaping up.

Voodoo flags the products with mix of style and technological innovation. Voodoo's products sold by HP include the Envy ultraportable laptop and the Omen gaming desktop.

HP will retain Voodoo as a brand name. The integration of the brand in HP's consumer portfolio will lead to worldwide availability for the high-end PCs at easier pace.

But no comments have been put forward for the potential layoffs resulting from the integration.
