Microsoft Corp. is reportedly in talks with several news agencies to remove reports from Google Inc. As of now, the Redmond Giant has approached News Corp.
The company is planning to pay Wall Street Publishers to remove their sites from Google results. The talks are reportedly on their early stage. The updates cite that News Corp. is one of those several online publishers that Microsoft has approached and persuaded to remove their Web sites from Google results.
This is a direct attack over Google’s policy of using the content from various sites free of cost and can force it to pay. Meanwhile, the latest reports from News Corp authorities indicate agreement over the same.
No comments have been received as of now from any of the related reports.
Furthermore, the various news agencies have been affected from this move of Microsoft reportedly and have started asking for prices for their content.
The move is also a step to save the print industry as maximum of the users’ are shifting to online content reading. The newspapers’ industry is looking for other options to counter the loss of advertising and readers to the Internet, as industry’s ad revenue fell 28 percent in Q3 to $6.44 billion. To cope with such ill effects, the Wall Street Journal in October began charging for access on mobile devices.
Meanwhile, Microsoft and Yahoo! Inc. have entered into a search-engine partnership to outcompete Google. Lalit Yadav/ITVoir Network |
