On Tuesday Bharti Airtel Limited launched 'Airtel digital TV', direct to home (DTH) satellite TV service.
As promised by Airtel Digital TV that they provide better technology, unique features and great content and the company claims to redefine the digital home entertainment experience by its services.
Through 21,000 retail outlets, the service will be available to customers including Airtel Relationship Centres in 62 cities across the country starting October 9, 2008.
The venture sum up a new dimension to Airtel’s existing product portfolio and it’s a most important step towards transforming Airtel from a telecom brand to a lifestyle enabler.
Airtel digital TV utilizes the latest MPEG4 standard with DVB S2 technology, which translates into picture clarity and consistent high quality audio for the viewer. This latest technology allows delivery of interactive content and is attuned to High Definition content standards. Airtel digital TV also uses 20 per cent larger dish antenna to give better performance during rains.
Alongside the latest technology, Airtel digital TV brings many firsts to the DTH segment in India -- universal remote, higher memory and exclusive content like World Space Radio.
