Asus, the leading manufacturer of laptops and computers has also joined the environmentally aware troop of companies by announcing the launch of its bamboo series notebook.

The new notebook announced is very designer and claims to save energy by automatically monitoring and adjusting power usage. The users have the capability to manually set the power levels through factory determined presets.

The newly announced notebook is available in two versions: a 12.1-inch model that weighs 1.57kg and a slighter smaller 1.25kg, 11.1-inch machine. Both the machines include a multi double-layer DVD, an 8-in-1 card reader and a 0.3 mega-pixel web camera.

The 12.1-inch model features an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, a Mobile PM45 Express Chipset and an iMAX/WiFi Link. Additionally, the notebook also features DDR2 800 MHz SDRAM, an NVIDIA GeForce 9300M with 256MB of VRAM, a 2.5-inch SATA drive and a 256MB flash hybrid.

The 11.1-inch model features a U7600 Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, a Mobile GM965 Express Chipset and a Wireless WiFi Link. Additionally, the notebook is also loaded with features DDR2 667 MHz SDRAM, an embedded GMA X3100, a 1.8-inch PATA and a 32GB SSD.
