Hewlett Packard unleashed three new models of EliteBooks in the market -- EliteBook 8730w, EliteBook 8530w (a mobile workstation) and EliteBook 8530p.
EliteBook 8730w is a 17-inch mobile workstation. This is HP’s first laptop with its DreamColor displays. The 8730w’s DreamColor LED-backlit display has a resolution of 1920×1200, and displays up to 16 million colors. 8730w will offer Intel Core 2 Duo or Core 2 quad-core processors; up to 8GB of memory. The 8730w will be available in the market later this month and the starting price is fixed at $1,700.
Other two models, HP EliteBook 8530w and HP EliteBook 8530p share the same design, and have similar options, but the EliteBook 8530w offers Intel quad-core processors and Nvidia Quadro FX 770M with 512MB or ATI Mobility FireGL V5700 with 256MB. The 8530p’s ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 with 256MB is no slump, but it’s not a workstation.
Both models will be available in September starting at $1,500.
