The demand for the low cost desktops and laptops is increasing day by day and to trail that trend, Intel has announced a new desktop motherboard named as Intel Desktop Board D945GCLF2. The mother board is intended to design low cost compact netbooks and desktops.

Some distinct features of Intel Desktop Board D945GCLF2 include:-

• 533 MHz system bus

• Intel 945GC Express chipset

• Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 chipset

• Low-power dual-core Intel Atom processor

• One PCI expansion slot

• Two SATA ports

• Integrated six channel audio

• Support up to 8 on-board USB 2.0 ports

• IDE connector with support for two drives

• Integrated 10/100/1GB Ethernet

As per the market report, this chip set is designed for low expenditure netbooks which is proved to be a better selection for home users, schools and small scale businesses.

The chip would be available in the market from coming September and the pricing detail has not been revealed by Intel yet.
