Intel’s forthcoming processor codenamed Nehalem is still to be launched in August at Intel Developers Forum but the company has managed to release a machine based on the same.

Recently, Intel unveiled a supercharged demo machine that works on Nehalem processor; the machine was bundled with Solid State Hard Drives and other technical features. Among others, the features assembled are an optical drive, a card reader and a stunning 12.1-inch touch screen with a native resolution of 1280x800. The demo machine was four core enabled.

Nehalem is the micro-architecture processor that is slated for release in late 2008 and derives its structure from Penryn family of processors. It is based on 45nm chip design. It is loaded with indigenous hyper-threading functionality.

Apart from these, Nehalem features a built-in triple-channel memory controller with three DDR3 DIMMs installed on the X58 chipset-based motherboard. A specially designed Intel SATA II controller sports two fast 80GB solid state drives in a RAID 0 configuration.
