Apple testing 8-inch tablet?
Added On:2/15/2012 2:09:00 PM

The tech giant Apple is secretly testing a tablet computer with a smaller screen than Apple’s remarkable iPad. If reports are to be believed, the new iPad will have an 8-inch display.

Reliable sources informed, Apple is also working with component suppliers in Asia to test a new version of its popular tablet computer with a smaller screen

Analysts believe, smaller tablet would help fruit themed brand to broaden its product offerings, and therefore compete better with rivals including Samsung Electronics and Amazon to maintain its prevailing market share.

As a matter of concern, it is found, Apple has sold more than 55 million iPads since launching the device in April 2010. In last quarter, Apple has shipped more than 15 million iPads and captured over 60 percent global tablet market share, down from 68.3 percent in the previous quarter.

It is important to note that the first iPad hit stores in April 2010 and its successor iPad 2 was released in March 2011.

Any Apple spokeswoman declined to comment for now.

Let’s hope to see the smaller iPad soon in the market.
