Is IT boosting your business efficiency?
Added On:12/6/2012 9:25:00 AM

Have you ever given a thought to what forms the backbone of the fully functional and efficient company? With companies all over the world relying largely on computers, IT department plays a crucial role when it comes to the growth and success of an organization. Recent survey conducted by Juniper Networks and the Economist Intelligence Unit confirmed it as well.

However, the fact that IT failed to meet expectations that can help business to achieve new zeniths cannot be ignored.

Deputy Director, Rozina Ali, Economist Intelligence Unit, said, "Businesses still view the IT function in the traditional role of improving process efficiency. However, to really take advantage of an increasingly digitized world, companies need to recognize the potential value of IT as a collaborative partner in identifying new opportunities."

Businesses, are striving hard to keep up with the ever evolving market needs and exponential data growth.  In the same context Bask Iyer, senior vice president and CIO, Juniper Networks, stated, "We must embrace disruptive technologies such as cloud and mobile, which is propelling business growth to create an opportunity for IT to step out of a support function into a more strategic role. By creating new products and services and identifying new market opportunities, IT can truly transform and technologically enable the business."
