Japan based NEC Electronics has announced that combined with Germany’s Elmos Semiconductor AG it would develop semiconductor products.
The companies are collaborating to better compete in the automotive and industrial markets.
After recent announcement of being a member with Super Friends Chip Alliance initiated by IBM, it is reported that NEC Electronics shares jumped more than 4 percent.
Both the companies combined are motivated to offer packaged products combining NEC Electronics’ strength in microcontrollers with Elmos’ expertise in analog chip technologies to produce smaller and more efficient semiconductors.
As per marketers, competition will boost but costs will decrease.
The recent forays by NEC into different spectrums indicate that company is following strong plans to make a corner for it amid such stiff competition.
