Nokia has reasserted its loyalty towards its Symbian software even after its first phone based on Microsoft Windows 7 becomes available for sale, sources informed.

The Windows 7 Nokia phone is expected to hit the markets in 2012 if not later this year. A plan issued by Nokia said Symbian will only be replaced by Windows 7 in the coming two years.

But still the definite date until which the Symbian will be sold is not known, sources revealed. Rumors are rife, it may be available in few markets until 2016.

The Symbian roadmap reportedly is being worked upon by Nokia and its plans to come out with a strong line of products including the Symbian when it transits from Symbian to Windows 7.

One of the largest phone manufacturers will also include improvements in hardware performance such as GHz+ processing capabilities and faster graphics speeds in fact Nokia's current top models, the N8 and the E7, use 680 MHz (megahertz) processors, while phones from competition firms already use 1 GHz (gigahertz) and quicker processors.
