As reported in mid of May, Safari was facing a bug that allows attackers to bombard victim’s desktop with executable files. The attack is known as ‘carpet bombing”.

The recent updates for this bug depict that its consequences can be more destructive as predicted earlier. The Windows users can face dire consequences as reported by sources. The warning announcing the worse results for Window users have been announced accounting the fact that if this flaw exploited in combination with an unpatched bug in Internet Explorer, attackers can run unauthorized software on victim’s computer.

As reported, attack can be run if user visits an unauthorized web page using Safari, triggers carpet bombing which exploits bug in Internet Explorer to make the victim’s computer host to its illegitimate actions like running malware. But since the news update, no results for attack have been knowledge.

The analysts have stated that bugs in Safari and Internet Explorer are moderate but can produce critical flaws if combined. Microsoft is taking the issue seriously, as reported and has also issued a security advisory on the problem marking the initiation of debugging the unpatched bug. The attack reportedly affects all versions of Windows XP and Vista.

As reported an appeal has also been made to Window users to restrict or not to use the Apple’s Safari until an update is offered rectifying the bug.
