After long awaited release of Mozilla Firefox 3.0 on June 17, the browser is considered unsecure.
With in few hours of release, the update was tagged as unsecure and is stated to have loop holes that make it open for attacks. The researchers have detected a flaw that can be tagged as critical. The vulnerability if exploited can be used by remote attackers to take control of a user's PC.
In addition to Firefox 3.0, the security flaw also affects previous versions of Firefox 2.0x. With this loop hole, the remote attackers can successfully launch an attack by executing the malicious code and is thus termed with a "high" severity rating.
But the attack can not be undertaken without the active participation of user. An attacker would have to entice a user to click on a malicious link or to visit a malicious Website for the user's computer to get infected. But with its open strategy, the browser is expected to turn with a fix sooner. Vinod Negi, ITVoir Network |
