D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumer and business, today announced it is now shipping a full-featured network surveillance camera designed for whole-room monitoring of the home, office and small business, offering superior management over conventional closed-circuit television security cameras. The new network camera supports Power over Ethernet for flexibility to install the camera where coverage is needed rather than where power outlets are available.
The D-Link SecuriCam Pan/Tilt/Zoom Network Camera can be configured to record video to a local Network Area Storage device such as the D-Link 2-Bay or 4-Bay Enclosures when motion is detected or it can be scheduled to record at certain times throughout the day. The IP-based DCS-5610 offers an auto-start motion detector that can be configured to send an email alert when triggered, and is capable of streaming live feeds to an Internet-ready mobile phone or PDA. The camera features 2.6x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom, SIP 2-way audio, and resolution up to 640x480 at 30 frames per second.
The D-Link Pan/Tilt/Zoom Camera is the ideal whole room surveillance camera because it can be mounted on a ceiling or wall for maximum coverage. Additionally, D-Link offers the compatible IP Camera Outdoor Enclosure to monitor and survey in harsh outdoor environments.
The DCS-5610 provides support for 3GPP Mobile Surveillance that allows the user to view a live video feed from a compatible Internet-ready mobile phone or PDA with a 3GPP player installed. This extends monitoring capability without requiring the use of a computer, allowing on-the-go monitoring of the camera's video feed. It also includes 2-way audio with a built-in microphone and audio-out port that provides remote communication with anyone within close proximity to the camera.
The DCS-5610 is easily managed using a Web-based interface or with the included D-ViewCam 2.0 management software. D-ViewCam 2.0 management software can manage up to 32 network cameras, send e-mail alert notifications, set recording schedules, and trigger motion detection to record directly to a hard drive on a connected PC or network attached storage device. D-ViewCam 2.0 also allows users to upload a home or office floor plan and create a realistic layout of where the cameras are located, further simplifying the management process.
Offering optimal viewing quality, the DCS-5610 supports simultaneous MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG to provide both high quality and bandwidth efficient compression formats. Motion JPEG delivers greater file integrity, making it ideal for detailed monitoring situations. MPEG-4 video utilizes compressed files, useful for extended recording periods or for use in low bandwidth networks. Renu /ITvoir Network
