Development Environment Provides Specialty Solutions and Services for Systems Requiring DO-254 Compliance
To support the growing number of avionics and military applications requiring DO-254-certifiable components, Altera Corporation today launched a DO-254 Global Partner Network. Altera, together with Aldec, Geensys, HighRely and HCELL Engineering, provide a comprehensive environment of DO-254-certifiable intellectual property (IP) cores, in-hardware verification flows and documentation. The inaugural partners provide specialty solutions and services that enable Altera FPGA and HardCopy ASIC solutions to be quickly approved and implemented in avionics and military applications. The DO-254 Global Partner Network targets customers requiring DO-254 Level A, B, C or D compliance. Lionel Burgaud, DO-254 User Group founder and chairman, stated, “The formation of the DO-254 Global Partner Network by Altera provides avionics and military designers with a compelling design environment that will allow customers to save a considerable amount of time and resources.” The DO-254 standard was developed by the avionics industry to establish hardware deployment guidelines for developers, verification engineers, quality managers, installers and users. The standard provides design assurance and guidance for airborne electronic hardware designers, from conception through initial certification and subsequent post-certification product improvements to ensure continued airworthiness.
“We recognize the importance of the DO-254 standard to our military and aerospace customers and we are pleased to work with Altera to feature our verification solutions in its DO-254 Global Partner Network to assist our mutual customers,” said Dave Rinehart, vice president, Aldec, Inc. “Aldec’s DO-254/CTS solution enables users to test and verify their FPGA design in the target Altera device with the same coverage, flexibility and traceability of HDL simulation.” Altera’s FPGA and HardCopy ASIC families provide an ideal solution for designers of military and airborne applications. Offering features such as anti-tampering design security, end-of-life protection, military temperature support, and quality and reliability levels for rugged environments, Altera’s solutions help designers reduce risk, increase reliability and meet their performance and time-to-market goals.
