Clearswift announced the availability of MIMEsweeper for SMTP Edge Server on IBM Blade servers and xSeries hardware. The MIMEsweeper for SMTP Edge Server is an email firewall that protects business critical infrastructures from spam, viruses and malware. The availability of MIMEsweeper for SMTP Edge Server on IBM hardware is the latest effort by Clearswift to ensure that all of its customers have full access to Clearswift’s cutting-edge inbound, outbound, and internal messaging security solutions, regardless of hardware preference. In conjunction with Clearswift MIMEsweeper for Domino 8.1, IBM Domino R7 and R8 customers also have full access to Clearswift’s content filtering solutions.

MIMEsweeper for SMTP Edge Server now runs on IBM LS20, HS20, and HS21 Blade centers. In addition to filtering spam, viruses and malware before it hits the internal network, the Edge Server provides a safe and trusted connection for confidential communications between an organization and its valued business partners through the use of TLS encryption.

By deploying the Edge Server, a company’s email servers will be relieved of unwanted spam and malware, will be more reliable, its networks faster and storage less packed with unwanted information. With less information flowing to the main core of MIMEsweeper, email will arrive faster and reporting will be more responsive, while reducing the amount of maintenance required.
