PanIIT 2008 will be held between December 19 and 21 at the IIT campus in Chennai. PanIIT extends invitations to IIT alumni to come and be a part of the PanIIT Global Conference. To facilitate better travel for the IITians, PanIIT 2008 has launched the ‘Freedom Package’ to ensure easy travel, accommodation and registration facilities for its participants during the 2008 Global Conference. This is specifically designed for the alumni who will be travelling to Chennai from Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune.
 
Significant features of the Freedom Package:
•Registration to the conference.
•Train Reservations, to and from Chennai.
•Transfers in Chennai.
•Boarding and Lodging in IIT hostels.


The early registrants can use the Face2Face feature to register for personal interaction with the speakers at the conference. Moreover, the first 100 Freedom Package registrations get the chance to win vouchers worth Rs. 1000 from Landmark. Simultaneously, registrants get the opportunity to participate in the Freedom Contest and win 3 Grand Prizes of Rs 10,000 each. However, the ‘Freedom Package’ comes with the flexibility of full refund in case of cancellation, if any, up to 15 days before the event. This facility is transferable to other willing alumni as well. The offer closes on 30th September.


PanIIT believes in repaying the society which has helped them reach great heights. They are currently pursuing five nation-building projects such as IITians for ITI, which provides technical/ vocational education by creating institutions; Indo-US collaboration for Engineering Education, which seeks to create an engineering faculty institute for fostering curriculum collaboration; Parikrma,which aims to transform lives of under-served children; Reach 4 India, which helps rural people to gain employment; and Stimulating Education & Enhancing Development, which provides e-learning to stimulate economic development.

The three day conference will serve as a platform for the congregation of over 3000 IITians from all over the world to reestablish old bonds, create new friendships, and network with fellow alumni, faculty, and their families.
