D-Link, the end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumer and business, today unveiled a fixed dome network camera that makes monitoring discreet, protects against tampering, and connects to a variety of external devices such as switches and alarm relays, making it a powerful solution for businesses requiring indoor/outdoor security.
The D-Link Fixed Dome Network Camera is a high-performance IP-based network camera designed for professional indoor surveillance and security applications. The VGA Progressive CMOS Sensor in the DCS-6110 delivers exceptional picture quality, and with the built-in Samba client for NAS there is no need for a direct connection to a PC or any other hardware or software to capture and transfer video. Equipped with PoE support, the DCS-6110 can receive both power and data over a single Ethernet cable, allowing the camera to be placed in locations that aren't near a power outlet.
The D-Link Fixed Dome Network Camera supports simultaneous dual streaming of MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG to provide both high quality and bandwidth efficient compression formats. MJPEG delivers greater file integrity, making it ideal for detailed monitoring situations. MPEG-4 video has smaller file sizes, making it more useful for extended recording periods or for use in low bandwidth networks.
With support for 3GPP Mobile Surveillance, users are able to view a live video feed from a compatible Internet-ready mobile phone with a 3GPP player installed. This extends monitoring capability without requiring the use of a computer, allowing remote viewing of the camera's video feed while on the go.
The DCS-6110 includes a free version of D-Link D-ViewCam 2.0 management software enabling management of up to 32 network cameras, setting e-mail alert notifications, setting recording schedules, and trigger motion detection to record directly to a hard drive. D-ViewCam 2.0 also allows users to upload a business floor plan and create a realistic layout of where cameras are located, further simplifying the management process. Lalit /ITvoir Network
