Sony Ericsson names Opera Mini best productivity app

Opera Software, the only company that puts the Web on any device, today announced that Opera Mini 4, the browser for all mobile phones, won the category for Productive Mobility in the 2007 Sony Ericsson Content Awards.

The jury said: “The sophisticated and smart features of Opera Mini 4 take mobile Internet browsing to a whole new level. A superior mobile Web experience.”

“The best mobile browsing experience. Now I can go to any website in the world on my mobile phone.”

The awards were given in the categories for Gaming, Imaging, Productive Mobility, Music & Audio and Themes & Graphics. Winners were chosen by a jury of content industry professionals and judged on ease-of-use entertainment factor, mobile innovation, functionality and audio performance.

Opera Mini 4, freely available for download at operamini.com, enables the full Web on a full range of mobile phones. As a result, anyone can use the real Internet from their phone today. Opera Mini has more than 27 million users worldwide.

The award-winning Internet experience includes zooming options that make it easy for users to view and navigate page content on a small screen of a mobile phone. New to version 4 is Opera Link, which dynamically synchronizes bookmarks that are stored from any other browser directly to Opera Mini.

As a 2007 Sony Ericsson Content Award winner, Opera Mini 4 will be preloaded on select Sony Ericsson phones and will be available through Sony Ericsson’s PlayNow™ download service.
