SAP Asia Pacific Japan, the leading provider of enterprise software
solutions, today announced that Gartner, Inc., the renowned independent
research firm, has recognized SAP as the Asia Pacific and Japan 2006 market
share leader for the enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management
(CRM) and supply chain management (SCM) markets. The three SAP business
applications – SAP CRM, SAP ERP and SAP SCM – are all valuable solutions within
the SAP Business Suite.
The Gartner report detailing Asia Pacific and Japan CRM market share
(“Market Share: CRM Software, Asia/Pacific and Japan, 2006;” Yanna
Dharmasthira, Sharon Mertz and Chris Pang; August 2007) finds SAP leading the
CRM market, as measured by total CRM software revenues for 2006, with a total
market share of 32.1 percent in Asia/Pacific and Japan, placing 17.1percentage
points above its closest competitor.
The latest Gartner report on Asia Pacific and Japan ERP market share
(“Market Share: ERP Software, Asia/Pacific and Japan, 2006;” Yanna
Dharmasthira, Chris Pang, Chad Eschinger and Koji Motoyoshi; July 2007)
estimates that SAP leads the ERP market, as measured by total software revenues
for 2006, with a total market share of 31.6 percent in Asia Pacific and Japan.
This measure surpasses SAP’s closest competitor in the space by 18 percent of
Asia Pacific Japan ERP market share. Within the ERP market, SAP is also further
noted as the leader in several relevant categories, including financials and
human capital management solutions.
The Gartner report profiling Asia Pacific Japan SCM market share (“Market
Share: SCM Software, Asia/Pacific and Japan, 2006;” Yanna Dharmasthira, Chad
Eschinger and Koji Motoyoshi; July 2007) states that SAP is leading the SCM
market, as measured by total SCM software revenues for 2006, with a total
market share of 24.7 percent in Asia/Pacific and Japan, surpassing the
second-ranked competitor at 14.9 percent.
